That Split Second When Everything Lights Up

Solar Storm Over Midnight is about that split second when everything lights up. I was thinking about those late nights when the sky feels both dark and on fire at the same time.

I built this piece in layers — deep navy blues at the bottom almost like water, then these bursts of burnt orange, gold and yellow breaking through. There are a lot of drips and soft white veils in between that catch the light and create depth.

It's a big, warm painting but the blue keeps it calm. A statement, but not loud in a bad way. Perfect where it can breathe — above a sofa, in a bright loft, or in an office that needs some soul.
