It Got Loud brings heat to a quiet room. Thick paint, fast moves, layers that don't hide.

This one started quiet and didn't stay that way. I kept layering — thick acrylic, marble paste, palette knife, fast brushwork — until the red and fuchsia took over completely. There's orange in there, a hit of turquoise at the top, and then that deep indigo blue at the bottom trying to hold it all together.

You can see the history in it. Marks underneath, scratched back, painted over. The texture is heavy and catches light differently throughout the day. I called it It Got Loud because that's exactly what happened in the studio. Sometimes a painting needs to be loud. It was made to be a statement piece — an entryway, living room, or office.
